Lana Mizumoto
I am an illustrator who creates comics, character and prop designs, and works with a flexible art style to adapt to different projects. From narrative artwork to individual illustrations, I create clear and engaging visuals tailored to each audience.
I prefer art that you can understand at one glance. Because of this, my art often doesn’t have special meanings or stick to a particular theme. Sometimes, I’ve drawn just because I felt like it or I thought an idea would look nice. My art style tends to be very inconsistent, but rather than trying to keep it down to a single style, I make use of it. Depending on what I draw, I play around with styles and various mediums to see what works best with the piece.
I come from a Japanese background and take a lot of influence from my own culture. I grew up watching Japanese cartoons and comics, so my art tends to lean towards those kinds of styles. I also get inspiration from my surroundings. A lot of the themes I explore are based on human relations and emotions, so seeing real-life interactions gives me a better sense of how to illustrate certain feelings and situations.
I try to make my art as clear as possible. I hope my audience will see my art and quickly get an idea of what I am trying to depict. Because I like art that is easy to understand, I hope to make art that is clear and straightforward for people like me. I want my work to be relatable and for people to feel the emotions it conveys.
